UCI XCO Worldcup Lenzerheide

On Sunday it is the turn of the cross country rider to run the show. All the big names are here to fight for the win as the season draws to a close. Lenzerheide is home terrain of Nino Schurter. He lives just around the corner and thousands of his fans are there screaming his name along the track. However this could not stop the strong Mathieu van der Poel to attack Nino over and over again. After a few laps it was between Schurter and van der Poel to take the win. van der Poel’s final attack is successful and he crosses the finish line first.

In the womans category the swedish Jenny Rissveds can celebrate an emotional victory. After winning the gold medal at the Olympic Games in 2016 she announced to end her career in 2017 due to personal reasons. After overcoming her problems she comes back with a big strike. In the 5th lap her attack in the uphill is successful and leaves Anne Terpstra behind. Rissveds crosses the finish line with gusebumps.

Pauline Ferran Prevot finishing 3rd.

Motivated at the start but it is a DNF for Annika Langvad.

And the heat is on. In front of thousands of people the woman elite starts into the race.

Kate Courtney fights hard finishing 7th.

With two strong last laps Sina Frei catches up several spots to finish 4th.
